We're a family businessMike and Molly Gregory began Creative Trivets Too! in the summer of 2015. Following in his parents crafting footsteps, they patterned their business model initially with the same Trivet and Cutting Board shapes which had a proven success. On the first weekend in October, 2015, Mike and Molly entered the Claybank Jamboree Festival in their hometown of Ozark, AL. Since that day, they have done Arts & Crafts shows in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida.
Their craft utilizes countertop material which is fall-off or extra material, which unless transformed, is ultimately heading to a landfill. Unlike granite countertops, solid surface is man-made and takes years to deteriorate in the landfills. Creative Trivets Too! transforms these fall-off pieces into hand-crafted, practical Trivets and Cutting Boards. |
Creative Trivets HistoryGordon Gregory began making cutting boards and trivets out of solid surface counter top materials when he owned Gregory Cabinets. He would use the left over material to make a trivet as a gift for his customers, as well as family and friends. One of his first Trivets/Cutting Boards was a Pig which he made for his wife Joan (which she still uses regularly). In the early 2000s, Gordon began his business, Creative Trivets and Cutting Boards. Taking his idea from years past, he began cutting the material into a few fun shapes. They were a hit with family and friends! Gordon and Joan began traveling to the Raleigh, NC farmer's market to sell the few shapes, and with popularity, began entering Arts & Craft shows on the weekend. They are now retired, but still keep up a busy craft show schedule doing shows in FL, SC, NC and PA with Creative Trivets.
